Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT) is a subordinate office of Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.

This cell basically works as bridge between the students and the industry to avoid unnecessary inconvenience to the students.

About Us

The Indian Institute of Handloom Technology is functioning under the administrative control of O/o the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.

The institute is located in a lush green campus of about 40 acres popularly known as Foulke’s compound. Foulke’s compound has a long history of 218 years from the days of the Commercial Residency of the British Imperialism to the present day.

Piyush Goyal

Minister of Textiles

Piyush Goyal (59) is the Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs & Food & Public Distribution and Textiles, Government of India. Leader of House in Rajya Sabha.He is a Member of the Upper House of the Parliament of India (Rajya Sabha), and the Leader of House in Rajya Sabha.

Goyal was a member of the Standing Committee on Finance and the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Defence. An active member of the Managing Committee of Indian Merchants Chamber, he is also involved with NGOs in diverse fields such as tribal education and welfare of the physically challenged (Jaipur Foot).
